<p>It’s possible that looking at the bright side of life is something not innate in us. It is something that we have to work on, because at times, it’s not our natural state. When we forgot to click ‘save’ on a proposal we were working on, when our kids spilled the milk all over the sofa or when the weather caused us to get held up in the mall. One of our first reaction would be frustration, anger or even blame. Although some things are out of our control, our outlook is something that we control.</p>

<p>In today’s world, we may be pushing our body to the limit, whether it’s working late night or eating fast food because, well, it’s faster. As much as the tips presented in this post may help you, your health should be priority number 1. You are in the position to achieve your goal better when your health is in tip top condition. Take care of your health.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">6. Fill Your Mind With Positivity</h3>



<p>One of the things that a mentor of mine shared was to have a mobile university. A university is often seen as a place of knowledge and mobile university is bringing that place of knowledge with you. Most of us would have a phone or smartphone that can store audios and videos. Store educational and motivational items. Listen to them. Watch them.</p>

One of my friends look at his role models as mentors. Although he may not have physically worked with them but he learned about them so much so that they were like mentors by his side, inspiring him.</p>

<p>In one of our previous post, we shared about the importance of sleep. Never underestimate what a good rest can do for you. You can be energized by it.</p>

<p>When you coach others, you share what you know and this helps, not just the people you coach but also yourself. You retain the information, reinforce your knowledge base, and develop communication skills.</p>

<p>As much as we want to arrive at our destination, sometimes we forget about the process or journey to get there. <em><a href="https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/24142-life-is-a-journey-not-a-destination" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Ralph Waldo Emerson</a></em> says,</p>

<p>The motivation in life are not always easy to find. We often find ourselves looking for motivation in the strangest ways. Sometimes we need help to look at the bigger picture and get out of our own head. Life can be hard but it can also be beautiful, and you should make sure you take time to reflect on both these aspects.</p>

<p>This is true, to some extent, especially when you are influenced by the collective actions or attitude of the 5 people; whether good or bad. This quote to me is about the people you mix with often that would impact your growth; successes, perspective, or emotions. The reason why I say ‘to some extent’ is because whether the 5 people have an influence over you AND whether all 5 have the same actions or attitude. If each has their own actions, then there will be little to no influence to what you can become. Here’s an example: in a group of 5, if everyone is talking about business and are enthusiastic to build their business but you have no knowledge about building a business but are intrigue by the discussions. Chances are, you may have the feeling of wanting to build a business of your own. The same goes to having either positive or negative people around you.</p>



<p><strong>Power of Affirmations</strong></p>



<p>In my previous article, I talked about being a child who was fearless in what can be done when the child hears “You can do it”, “That’s alright, give it another try.” or “You are great!”. That feeling of being unstoppable and willing to take the risk becomes real that you will try anything. As we grow older, we are clouded with doubts and the child-like feeling is hidden somewhere. Affirmations is when you tell yourself, “Yes, I can do it”. It affirms yourself that you really can do it. But if you tell yourself, “No, I can’t”, that too affirms yourself that you really cannot do it. Charge yourself up with positive affirmations daily. </p>

<p>Staying healthy is one of the most important things you can do for yourself. It is not just about feeling good, being healthy also means living longer and being able to do the things you enjoy every day. This contributes to being the best version of yourself. The first step to being healthy is knowing how to eat right. If you&#8217;re not getting enough of the nutrients that your body needs, your skin will show it. You can be eating a balanced diet and not get the vitamins and minerals that you need. The second step is to engage in physical activities, such as swimming, strength training, and yoga. These actions not only help maintain mental fitness and physical fitness levels but also promote weight loss, reduce stress, burn off excess calories, reduce aches and pains from sitting for long periods of time at the desk or on the couch watching TV all day.</p>



<p><strong>Power of Learning</strong></p>



<p>‘Learning never stops’. In today’s world, information and knowledge is almost everywhere. And, there is a lot to learn in today’s world. It is important to stay curious and open-minded because you never know what you will learn next. As I believe, learning is a lifelong process; a lifelong learning. It can either be formalized through institutions like schools, or it can be informal with parents and friends teaching one another. Learning is, by definition, an acquisition of knowledge or skill.</p>



<p>It may be scary, at first, when you learn something totally new but it&#8217;s worth the risk because it can lead to all sorts of life-changing moments. Imagine meeting your business partner or potential customers, for instance, if you never took any risks? Imagine how different life would be.</p>



<p><strong>Power of Mind</strong></p>



<p>A positive mindset is important because it can help us to make better decisions. It can also help us to keep a healthy lifestyle and be more productive. When we have a positive mindset, we are able to see the good things in our lives instead of all the negative aspects. This helps us to feel happier and work better with other people. Building a positive mindset takes exercise. Not the physical kind but rather the mental kind. Feed your mind with the right drive. It can be, as one of my mentor said it, ‘B.T.S.’. No, not the group but rather:</p>



<ol class="wp-block-list"><li><em>Books</em>. Read books. Books that will grow your mind.</li><li><em>Tapes</em>. Listen to tapes or, as technology evolves, listen to audio programs or podcast.</li><li><em>Stages</em>. Generally, when there are seminars, workshops or keynotes, most of the time, there will always be a stage; whether elevated or an area for the speaker. A stage where like-minded people gather to listen to the speaker deliver an impactful speech.</li></ol>



<p>It is important to have a positive mindset for many reasons. Positive people are more successful than negative people in almost every aspect of their lives. Studies have shown that positive thinkers improve their health, have better relationships and are even more productive at work.</p>



<p>I am confident that you will be the best version of yourself when you allow yourself to grow and take that step forward.</p>

We could see that those who are mentally strong handles stress different then those who do not. It is so important to look out for our mental health these days. </p>

It further emphasize the need to provide students with mental health services. This is crucial especially during these challenging times.</p>

But if we want to make sure that we get to be who we want to be, then we need to change with it too. And it&#8217;s not like this is something that happens overnight or that only takes one day at a time.</p>



<p>Mentally strong people are able to adapt and grow with these changes in order for them to grow and improve themselves mentally and emotionally.</p>

They don’t think about what’s going to happen, but rather focus on what they can do right now and not forgetting, keeping a sense of humor along the way.</p>

<p>Anger management refers to the ways that people deal with anger in their lives. There are different techniques that are used for managing anger, such as relaxation exercises, breathing exercises, thought stopping techniques, helping others, and meditating. These anger management methods can be effective when anger starts to get out of control and become harmful for the person and other people around them. </p>



<p>In order for a person to learn how to manage their anger, they must first understand why they have anger problems in the first place. What do they get out of being angry? What is it that makes them feel angry? Do they have anger triggers? What are these triggers? Understanding why we get angry can help us understand what we need to work on in our life. This can be something deeper in life. It requires an exploration into one&#8217;s life or triggers. </p>



<p>Before we move on further with the anger management methods in detail, we first need to understand &#8220;What is Anger?&#8221;.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">What is Anger?</h2>



<p>Anger is a human emotion that can have both physical and psychological consequences. The causes of anger can vary from person to person, but there are five main factors that contribute to the frustration and aggression.</p>



<p>Some people get angry when they feel they have been treated unfairly by others. This might be because they feel like their authority has been challenged, or because someone has purposely disregarded their opinions.</p>

<p>This emotional response is often accompanied by strong feelings such as rage, hatred, and fury. When the individual feels these emotions for a prolonged period of time, they can have serious impacts on their mental health. This is where anger management comes in.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in Anger Management</h2>



<p>In anger management, you may come across CBT or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (<a href="https://www.apa.org/ptsd-guideline/patients-and-families/cognitive-behavioral" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">CBT</a>) is a type of psychotherapy that helps people change their thoughts and behaviors. This type of therapy focuses on changing your thinking patterns and behaviors so you can be less angry. CBT is a combination of two other types of therapy: cognitive therapy and behavioral therapy.</p>



<p>Cognitive therapy helps you understand the reasons for your emotions and behaviors, while behavioral therapy focuses on how you can change your behavior to manage your emotions better. What does it mean to change your thoughts and behaviors? CBT teaches you how to identify your negative thinking patterns and learn how to replace them with more positive ones. You can think of this as taking a &#8220;new thought&#8221; instead of a &#8220;negative thought.&#8221;.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">1. Breathe</h3>



<p>It is important to learn breathing techniques in order to manage anger. Although breathing is something we do every second, there are breathing techniques that help with  anger management. Deep breathing can be done anywhere and is a form of meditation. This technique is designed to help you become more mindful of your thoughts, feelings, and actions.</p>



<p>Breathing exercises for anger management are very helpful when it comes to self-control. By spending just a few minutes on these exercises, you can regain your composure and relax your body. They are an excellent way to start feeling better about yourself in less than 10 minutes per day.</p>



<p>One of the most effective ways to deal with anger is by taking a deep breath for one minute, while focusing on exhaling the air through pursed lips. This technique can be related to whistling or sipping through a straw. Repeat this for a few minutes, to help alleviate any feelings of anger.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">2. Acceptance</h3>



<p>Accepting anger as a feeling is a process that takes time. There are some time-tested techniques, however, that can help with anger management.</p>



<p>The first step is to accept the feeling as a natural part of life. It is not something that needs to be eliminated or suppressed. Acceptance opens the door for anger and letting it out. Anger is a natural emotion and it needs to be dealt with in the same way as any other emotion. There are some anger management ways such as through healthy relationships with others and self-care practices such as meditation and mindfulness exercises.</p>

<p>Distractions are usually used to take people&#8217;s attention away from what is causing them discomfort. It can be something that an individual finds boring, tedious, or even unpleasant. When the mind is focused on the distraction, it won&#8217;t focus on the negative feelings like anxiety and anger. This is another anger management method that can help. There are many techniques to distract oneself when feeling angry or anxious. Here are some of them:</p>

They also help with blood circulation which enhances mental clarity and energy levels.</li><li>Meditation breaks: Meditating has many benefits that include reducing stress levels, enhancing focus, increasing self-awareness and producing feelings of calmness .</li></ul>
